There are hundreds of options for picking your weapon of choice in Starfield. Weapons are essential for combat and survival, whether you're facing various enemies or creatures. Here are some of the best early overpowered weapons you can get in Starfield to get overpowered quickly.
A lot of the best weapons can be bought from many of the weapons merchants. We'll also be taking a look at weapons that you're supposed to loot from specific quests. We'll look at weapons of every class(almost every class, sorry, melee builds). So, let's get on with the best early game overpowered weapons in Starfield.
N67 Smartgun
The N67 Smartgun is arguably one the most powerful weapons in Starfield, bar none. This minigun is a force to be reckoned with, with its high rate of fire, high damage and large magazine capacity. You can easily gun down hordes of enemies without breaking a sweat.
Where to Find
You can find the N67 Smartgun at the UC distribution centre in New Atlantis, but it comes at a hefty price of 38000 Credits. We suggest investing in the Commerce skill, using our Credit farming techniques, the infinite Credit farm method and smuggling Contraband.
Heller's Cutter
The Heller's Cutter is a tool for mining, but it can potentially be one of the best early-game weapons in Starfield. It's a pretty consistent source of Energy damage, and the best part is that it uses no ammo. You can make it through many combat encounters equipped with just the Heller's Cutter. It's also among our most recommended weapons for early-game Creature XP farms.
You can also use the Lasers skill and Heavy Weapons Certification skill to increase its damage.
Where to Find
You can find Heller’s Cutter at the Argos Extractors Mining Outpost, located on Vectera, as part of the Back to Vectera main quest in Starfield. You can find Heller’s Cutter in the building on the right when you step off your ship in a case on the right in the room.
Keelhauler
The Keelhauler is easily one of the most overpowered weapons in the early game of Starfield. This menace is an automatic pistol with a damage stat almost on par with magnum pistols. It has excellent accuracy and a solid firing range. It even has powerful modifiers that elevate it to your go-to weapon for most combat encounters.
Where to Find
Complete the Echoes of the Past quest as part of the Crimson Fleet questline. Learn how to join the Crimson Fleet and ultimately side with them to unlock the Keelhauler.
Marksman AA-99
The AA-99 is undoubtedly one of the gold-standard assault rifles in Starfield. The Marksman variant, in particular, is extremely powerful and part of many standard builds. It has solid stats across the board and a high range to boast. You can take down multiple enemies from a distance without any trouble.
Where to Find
You can pick up the Marksman AA-99 from Centaurian Arsenal in New Atlantis, which will cost you 18000 Credits.
Peacekeeper
The Peacekeeper is another excellent addition to your arsenal of Assault Rifles, and you can get it early. It's not the end all be all of overpowered weapons, but it's a great option to grab and forget until you run into a gun that outclasses it. It has solid stats across the board and an above-average magazine capacity.
Where to Find
Finish the "Groundpunder" side mission in the Altair Star System to obtain the Peacekeeper. Just travel to that system and answer the distress signal you get. You'll be rewarded with the Peacekeeper at the end of this lengthy quest that involves space combat.
Old Earth Hunting Rifle
The Old Hunting Rifle is a suppressed rifle that you can get early on that's excellent for long-range stealthy shenanigans. Any stealth or sniper build will want to start with this gun. In addition to its scope and semi-automatic rate of fire, it's also very economical on ammunition.
Where to Find
You can easily pick up the Old Earth Hunting Rifle from Centaurian Arsenal in New Atlantis at a reasonable price of around 4,000 Credits.
Revenant
This legendary weapon is the cream of the crop regarding assault rifles in Starfield. It might just hold the title of the best-overpowered weapon in Starfield. Everything about this assault rifle, from its damage, RoF, perks and magazine capacity, is superb and outclasss other assault rifles. The only drawback is that you can only get it later in the game.
Where to Find
During the "Eye of the Storm" mission in the Crimson Fleet quest, you'll get your only chance to get the Revenant. Towards the mission's conclusion, you'll have to engage with a computer to achieve the "Find the Vault Control Center" task. Right next to this computer is where you'll find Revenant.
