With 120 star systems to visit and over 1,000 planets to explore, Starfield offers a vast playground for exploration. The game's depth is such that even a normal-paced 100% playthrough takes about 104 hours, and a leisurely one can extend to about 250 hours. But it's the dedicated fans and players who truly stand out, clocking in massive 4-digit gaming hours, a testament to their unwavering passion for the game.

Posted on Reddit by u/siberianwolf99, they mentioned that they wanted to reach the highest player level possible without using exploits and have asked the community how they got to more than 1,000 hours. Several committed players shared their thoughts on how they did it in their playthrough and dished out some fascinating in-game activities.

Most players in the thread mentioned that building outposts and ship customization are the two main drivers for this level of gaming hours. Multiple New Game Plus runs to level up player perks to the max could definitely drive the gaming hours up to 1,000. It appears that being an expert at one perk in Starfield really takes time.

Here’s a quick rundown of the top activities that fervent Starfield players do to achieve immensely high gaming hours.

  1. Explore every single one of the 1,000 planets in the Settled Systems
  2. Gather adequate resources for building outposts via different missions or foraging
  3. Shipbuilding, outpost sourcing, and cargo management
  4. Doing new combat and playstyles via NG+ or a fresh character
  5. Mastering all perks and maximizing these through multiple instances of NG+ in one character
  1. Amping up roleplaying by choosing character-exclusive sidequests and doing in-game daily activities

This is not limited to what activities are currently on the list, but Starfield has a lot to offer. The most-awaited Shattered Space DLC will come in a few months, so players can expect to spend a couple more hundred hours in the Settled Systems.
