The Kindness of Strangers is a side quest in Starfield in The Well in New Atlantis. This quest, similar to An Invitation, is an introduction to a major religion in the galaxy, The House of the Enlightened.

How to Unlock The Kindness of Strangers

To start the quest, head to The Well in New Atlantis. You will see the House of the Enlightened on the left when you get there. Head inside and down the stairs, you will spot a green door.

Speak with Andy Singh and tell him that you are looking for work. He tells you to go and pick up Tahir from the MedBay, take Tahir to Kay’s to pick up a meal, and then bring him home. He will also give 2000 Credits upfront.

Pick Up the Patient from the Medbay

Visit the Medbay in The Well and look for a patient named Tahir Vala. He should be sitting on one of the chairs outside the Medbay, near a green medical sign. Speak with him and select the dialogue option “Not a scam. Just Andy Singh.” Otherwise, he will be hesitant to go with you.

Stop by Kay’s for a Homecooked Meal

Make your way to Kay’s house and talk to her about the homecooked meal meant for Tahir. She will give you the Miso Soup for free on behalf of Andy Singh.

Escort the Patient Home

Now you have to accompany Tahir back to his home. It is located in an alleyway beside the Medbay. He will thank you for helping him out, and you can give him the Miso Soup through a dialogue option. This will end the Kindness of Strangers quest.
