During the recent Gamescom panel, Bethesda’s lead producer, Tim Lamb, mentioned several new additions to the Shattered Space DLC. Ship customization will be a feature that players will enjoy in the upcoming DLC, along with several tools and gadgets.

Players in the community are now speculating how these improvements will look and feel when exploring and playing Starfield.

Some players are already keen on seeing how the Shattered Space DLC will make environment interaction more meaningful, and several fans speculated that a new scanner feature will be added along with a compendium or catalog of discovered flora and fauna.

Shattered Space will take the players to the Va’ruun’s homeworld, Va’ruun’kai, which is plagued by a fearful catastrophe that gives the DLC its horror aesthetics. Adding new features in the scanner to detect these anomalies in the DLC is not far-fetched, considering that vanilla Starfield’s scanner isn’t as huge as players expected it to be.

Shipbuilding may have an overhaul that will include certain customizations, such as placeable ladders and doors. While these features can be added through mods, mods on the Creations Club disable achievements, and having these features officially added by Bethesda in the game will enable achievements for those who always wanted to grind these in Starfield.

Shipbuilding is one of Starfield’s largest timesinks, and players will not hesitate to pour more hours into the game once Bethesda adds these placeable ladders and doors.

Shattered Space will be released on September 30, and players can look forward to upcoming news and stories by following and subscribing to Starfield Portal.
