Shattered Space May Shine Spotlight on House Va'Ruun

There’s no denying that numerous Starfield fans can’t wait for details about the Shattered Space DLC. Thanks to some eagle-eyed observers like GPT Gaming News on X, formerly Twitter, we may have confirmation for a popular Reddit theory about the upcoming expansion.

Are you among the many Starfield fans who have actively debated the possible content of the first DLC, Shattered Space, on Reddit and other venues? If you’ve seen Bethesda's May Update video, you might have seen this one detail that many, like you, see as confirmation of the DLC’s content.

A few months ago, one Reddit user proposed that the DLC would be about the House Va’Ruun faction and their homeworld, the planet Va’Ruunkai. The theory even suggests that the mysterious faction is going through an internal dispute that has split it into two, and the player may have to mediate or take a side in the new chapter.

Not surprisingly, Bethesda released no information about the DLC in the past few months until last Monday, when Todd Howard finally confirmed that Shattered Space is coming out in the fall.

Although no other details followed, some fans managed to spot some details hidden in plain sight in the Starfield May Update video that launched after that interview.

According to GPTGaming News on X, formerly Twitter, the code snippets seen in the segment offering a quick preview of Shattered Space confirm, at the least, that House Va’Ruun will feature prominently in the expansion.

This confirmation of a fan theory resonated well with the content creator’s followers, with some pointing out that House Va’Ruun is the least explored faction and deserves some storyline to flesh itself out. One user even joked that it’s time to collect the payout for marrying Andreja, as the companion will be involved in the new plot.
