We have to admit this playerā€™s choice of location for his outpost in Starfield surprised us. Itā€™s rare for us here at Starfield Portal to find outposts built on tropical biomes.

This is because many players seem to have an appetite for building a planet-side base on top of hills, beside seas or rivers, or on rocky plains.

This explorer, whose Reddit username is Snoo78119, picked to build his outpost on a clearing among coconut trees on the moon Schrodinger VIII-a. He calls it, somewhat aptly, 'Lavender Cache' since that is the prevalent color of the surrounding foliage.

Another reason this outpost differs from those we have already featured before is its layout. It doesnā€™t look like the usual settlements where everything is arranged in neat rows and aisles - the structures here are scattered liberally, making it look more like a POI than a player-built outpost.

Who doesnā€™t like the view out here? When viewed from a specific direction, you can see the massive outline of Schrodinger VIII looming in the background!

If youā€™re a fan of 80s movies, this outpost will remind you of movies like Gene Hackmanā€™s Uncommon Valor or the Rambo series of films set in Southeast Asia. No wonder Snoo78119 wanted to avoid making his planetside residence look campier than it already is!

This seems like a perfect time to build outposts on moons orbiting ringed gas giants, as the first Starfield update of 2024 has introduced graphical improvements that made these celestial bodies a lot more wondrous to behold!
