Since the release of Starfield’s Creations Club last June, hundreds of mods have been added to the mod library almost daily.

Almost every mod offers a unique and new Starfield gameplay experience, from game-enhancing overhauls to simple companion fixes.

With mods readily available to every PC and Xbox user, many Starfield players question whether mods are making or breaking the game.

Are mods making Starfield better, or is Starfield starting to become a mod itself due to the many changes that multiple mods can offer?

They shared that their friend has a different opinion about mods and asked what their fellow gamers think. Starfield fans in the thread seem to have a positive reception of mods, with many saying that mods generally improve their gameplay experience depending on the type of mod.

One notable comment in the thread stated that players must be modding it all wrong if mods are ruining the game. They said that modding is there to customize a game according to preference.

Others mentioned that they finish the vanilla version of the game first and then add mods to their subsequent gameplay.

A few of them also stated that having too many Star Wars mods changes the game so much that they prefer to add only a few that enhance their personal gameplay experience.

With these things in mind, it all comes down to how players utilize mods to improve their gameplay. For example, a huge mod such as StarSim: A Mining Conglomerate overhauls one game mechanic without ruining the Starfield experience altogether, while some minute difficulty mods may ruin it for others.

Modding, in its entirety, all boils down to how players would want to use it, and the Starfield community has the choice of whether these mods will make or break their gaming experience.
