After the success of the Prime Video show, fans are now clamoring for Bethesda to accelerate development on Fallout 5 or create another spin-off like New Vegas 2.

It has been an exciting week for Fallout fans. On April 10, Prime Video released all eight episodes of the live-action TV series Fallout, which was immediately followed by an increase in sales for all titles in the franchise, including Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.

While the franchise's fans generally feel euphoric, some in the community feel uneasy as they seek a new title in the Fallout franchise.

These fans are aching for Bethesda to release Fallout 5, which Todd Howard has all but confirmed is in production during an interview at Amazon's South by Southwest.

In this interview, Todd Howard revealed he had pulled the plug on some of the production team's ideas. The Bethesda exec explained that they were encroaching on territory the game developer had also envisioned for Fallout 5.

On the other hand, other fans are also calling for a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, the divisive spin-off title developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released in 2010.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer for the fifth Fallout title to hit the market as Bethesda is still actively developing Elder Scrolls 6 and supporting Starfield.

However, similar to how it bridged the gap between Fallout 3 and 4, a new spin-off could keep the market interested in the franchise while the main game is still in the works.

Interestingly, developing a New Vegas sequel could allow Bethesda and the third-party developer to work closely with Jonathan Nolan and the other showrunners of the Prime Video show. Given how the first season finale played out, New Vegas is poised to play a prominent role in the second season.

While waiting for news on the next Fallout game, fans may want to try the next-gen update for Fallout 4. This patch will be available for free across all platforms by April 25.
