The default Razorleaf has a legend that drives many pirate and Spacer ships away, but it looks too ordinary to live up to it. What do you think about a lore-friendly yet truly terrifying visual for this otherwise versatile ship in Starfield?

The Razorleaf is the coolest of the earliest ships you can obtain in Starfield. It becomes yours at the end of The Mantis quest line, and it is so amazing that sometimes Crimson Fleet and Spacer captains avoid combat with you if you’re flying aboard it.

Its base configuration is formidable enough in battle, but the Razorleaf can be easily upgraded to make it more effective in a space fight. This player has transformed the Razorleaf into a massive Mantis-like combat vessel thanks to several modified ship parts.

The builder, whose Reddit username is JoeCool-in-SC, identified the ship parts used in this upgrade as the following:

  • Avontech - used for the shell plating, the legs and front claw-like parts
  • Derretech - Used for the eyes, the cockpit, and the eye-like appendages of the ship

Appropriately named “The Mantis,” this version of the Razorleaf stands about five layers tall. The front part extends like the elongated thorax of a praying mantis, terminating in a triangular head resembling the one found in the eponymous insect on Earth.

By the way, did you know that the latest update will add additional features to the Ship Builder function in Starfield? You’ll now be able to decorate the interior of your vessels the same way you do with your outposts, so watch out for the rollout on May 15.
