Days before Fallout Londonās release, Fallout fans had an intense in-fighting within the Fallout 4 modās Reddit community. A fellow Fallout London fan and game industry veteran called out their fellow community members as āmoaning little babiesā, referring to how the general community reacted to Fallout Londonās continued delays.
It is not uncommon in the gaming industry to have customers or players who become extremely vocal when it comes to game releases and content production. Most of the time, comments and reactions from these gamers tend to be hostile and toxic towards the game developers and publishers. But does this behavior reflect how passionate these gamers are towards the game they like or are gamers generally toxic in every way?
Now that Fallout London has been released, fans of the game mod are now enjoying what Team FOLON and GOG have been working on over the past weeks. However, prior to the release of Fallout London, Team FOLON was bombarded by negative comments regarding Fallout Londonās delay, reactions which were possibly coming from frustration and expectations that the mod will be released on time.
On the other hand, almost every triple-A game releases were also battered with similar comments, whether it was about launch date delays, an enormous amount of bugs, or the inevitable Day 1 patch. These instances are becoming common in the gaming industry nowadays, with different studios experiencing layoffs among many other reasons.

While it is understandable to become frustrated by delays and poor-quality products, it is also best to remember that developers who are working tirelessly on video games are also human beings.
Players are consumers as well and are entitled to their opinions, but it is best to keep in mind that oftentimes, developers were just having a bad month or week and many of them do not deserve to be disparaged like what happened in the Fallout London subreddit, especially that the mod is a passion project of Team FOLON and is given to all Fallout 4 players for free.
Gamers being passionate about their favorite game is a good thing, and building a healthy community with good communication from the developers is what makes a game truly great.
