Toxicity in many MMORPGs comes in many forms. From abusive chats and abandoning raids to glitching an NPC so no one can talk to it and setting up dreadful trap camps, player trolls are always present in almost every MMO game, especially in Fallout 76.

One player experienced the not-so-wonderful welcome of a trap camp, which they proceeded to nuke but felt sorry for afterward. Now, the community is torn about whether to feel empathetic toward trap camps or if they deserve a nuke straight in the face.

On Reddit, u/oldninja55 shared how they became the victim of a random trap camp. Fortunately, they survived the ordeal but spent several stim packs to do so. They contemplated a bit and eventually nuked the trap camp and started the Neurological Warfare public event, which resulted in them feeling sorry for the trap camp's owners.

Trap camps are player-made camps rigged to kill anyone who tries to enter them using traps or radiation emitters. As the name suggests, trap camps trap players inside, killing them either slowly or instantly and making their items free for the taking. Griefers use this tactic to steal items from unaware players and are prevalent all over post-apocalyptic Appalachia.

Many fellow players said they should not feel sorry for nuking such abominable creations, especially if these trap camps aim to become toxic online.

User u/oldninja55 felt sorry, but their fellow gamers said that they had done the right thing, as it also prevented the trap from victimizing someone else. Others say they have nuked trap camps for far simpler reasons and mention that trap camps must be eliminated from the game.

Bethesda released a promotional video featuring trap camps, and it seems that the studio expected this behavior from players. While some may find trap camps funny and harmless, some players, especially newbies, may not appreciate getting themselves blown up by being curious about a camp.
