What does Surveying do?

  • It improves your hand scanner and allows you to safely scan flora and fauna from much farther away.

What are the ranks for Surveying skill?

  • Rank 1: Adds an optional zoom to the hand scanner, and scan distance is increased to 20 meters.
  • Rank 2: Adds another level of zoom to the hand scanner, and scan distance is increased to 30 meters.
  • Rank 3: Adds another level of zoom to the hand scanner, and scan distance is increased to 40 meters.
  • Rank 4: Adds another level of zoom to the hand scanner, and scan distance is increased to 50 meters.

Are there challenges to complete for this skill?

  • Rank 2: Use the hand scanner to scan 10 unique resources, flora, or fauna.
  • Rank 3: Use the hand scanner to scan 25 unique resources, flora, or fauna.
  • Rank 4: Use the hand scanner to scan 50 unique resources, flora, or fauna.
