Bethesda’s Starfield has received several fantastic updates since its launch. Over a year, it has evolved signifiantly from better maps to the Creations Club update.
It has also received a couple of visual and quality-of-life updates recently. Starfield players are starting to appreciate how the visuals have improved since then.

Many Xbox players also shared how the game looked better than it did during launch. Some said they opened Starfield just to admire the view, while others said they prefer Bethesda’s Creation Engine 2 over Unreal Engine 5. This makes for a better gaming experience for games natively developed by Bethesda.
While the sentiment is not uncommon, Starfield's performance is a testament to how Bethesda aims to provide a better gaming experience to its community. Game optimization is an important factor nowadays, with many AAA titles being released without proper platform optimization. Bethesda’s latest in-house Creation Engine 2, made for Starfield, provides a specific and unique gaming experience for both players and developers.
During a recent interview, Todd Howard shared that Starfield will begin to have annual story expansions. Bethesda will utilize the existing planets to have a much more in-depth set of quests and exploration. The upcoming Shattered Space DLC will showcase these new features, possibly with a new game mechanic in land vehicles.
