Popular Mod Site Bans Starfield Pronoun-Removing Mod

Starfield, like many other Bethesda titles, is poised to become a modders paradise in due time. However, Nexus Mods, one of the most popular mod sites in the world, has made one thing clear; they won't stand for mods that directly affect the inclusivity of Starfield, which is why they are banning all anti-pronoun mods from their site.

Like many other things surrounding Starfield, the ability to select your pronouns has stirred controversy amidst a small but heavily vocal minority, who has deemed Bethesda as woke and pandering to minorities for adding a ver innocuous easy to ignore feature that only appears during the character creation process and has little to no impact in the actual game.

The biggest criticism of this inclusion came from HeelsVsBabyFace, whose spirited rant garnered over 13 million impressions on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Even before his public outburst, many modders were trying to remove the "woke" pronoun select option from the game. Now, Nexus Mods has made it very clear they will not tolerate those types of mods on their platform.

In a statement to 404 Media, Nexus Mods stated the following.

“Hosting this mod was not for us and it is certainly within our rights not to host content on our platform. It's not a ‘political statement’ or an ‘alignment to one side or the other in the culture war.’ We stand for diversity and inclusion in our community and the removal of diversity, while appealing to many, does not promote a positive modding community.”

In a world where you can lose yourself exploring hundreds of planets, partaking in dozens of quests, harvesting hundreds of resources and visiting multiple cities across the settled systems, the fact that a simple inclusivity option could break your sense of immersion sounded, quite frankly, ridiculous.
