Starfield is a groundbreaking role-playing game in its own right. As Bethesda’s first-ever RPG franchise after 25 years, the game quickly smashed through 6 million players after its official release on September 6.
Furthermore, the game took just three more weeks to garner 4 million players and reach 10 million.
These successes contributed to its nomination, eventually being selected as Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Now, Starfield is also in the running for Best RPG at The Game Awards. However, it’s not nominated for Game of the Year.
Instead, the contenders for that distinction are Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Another Bethesda title, Hi-Fi Rush, is also nominated for the following categories: Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Innovation in Accessibility, and Best Action Game.
With the announcement of the nominees, The Game Awards is now officially open for voting through this link. Alternatively, they can vote for their favorite games via the official Discord server of the award show.
Voting will end on December 6 at 6 p.m. Pacific time. The next day, December 7, The Game Awards will stream the awarding live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The stream will be available across numerous platforms, including Twitch and YouTube.
Don’t forget to cast your votes for Starfield for Best RPG now!
