A group of Reddit users are putting together a list of unannounced changes they’ve otherwise found while giving the new Starfield update a spin on the Steam Beta platform. One of these changes is Cora finally being able to receive books.
One of the weirdest omissions players encounter in Starfield is the inability to give Cora Coe, Sam Coe’s daughter, the books she’s asking for. It’s really odd for Bethesda not to make this possible in the base game without the use of mods because several interactions make it clear that Cora wants to read real books.
It was an excellent opportunity for an ongoing side quest that could net you experience points and some loot, but Starfield inexplicably does not have that on the base game. The studio has thought of that and has finally fixed the issue in the latest update, which is set to come out for all players on May 15.
The update, officially called Update 1.11.33, is currently on Steam Beta, where players can test it before it is officially released. Some participants have taken to the NoSodiumStarfield subReddit to reveal what changes they’ve noticed that were not part of Bethesda’s announcement or its introductory video.
The players noted that one of these unannounced changes is that Cora Coe can finally receive books from the player. This means we have another side quest that might as well become a new activity to consume our time in addition to the outpost building, shipbuilding, and planet exploration.
These players also noted that the map borders can now be extended, although no one has tested how many steps a player can take out of bounds before the game crashes.
Starfield is also due to receive its first-ever land vehicle, a feature that many players have been clamouring for in the months immediately following the game’s launch. However, there’s still no official announcement on when the update that brings this feature to the game will be released.
