As you all know by now, Bethesda has not left anything out when it comes to customizing your character in their newest open-world RPG, Starfield. There are many attributes to personalize and rank up, for instance.

Manipulation is one of those skills, allowing you to fool an NPC into doing what you want them to do.

Someone on Reddit decided to take it to the next level. He tried to see if he could kill an NPC and convince another to remove the dead one’s clothes so he could use it.

Long story short - he did it. Here’s a photo of Reddit user Zorping wearing the uniform of the NPC Captain Ikande, who, unfortunately, has been left in his undergarments.

This feature has been previously available on Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim but is impossible to do directly with your character.

You don’t have to wonder how he did it, however. Here’s a short walkthrough on how you can do the same based on Zorping’s Reddit post.

How to Steal NPC's Clothes

The first step is easy. You just need to identify your target and then straight-out murder them. The next step is the trickiest. That’s why we mentioned Manipulation earlier because you need to be very good at this to work.

There's one more thing we need to complete the plan: that guy's eye!

Simply put, you must convince another NPC in the area to inspect the dead body and steal their clothes. This will literally strip the poor person into their undergarments. If you’re good at Manipulation, the NPC will do it for you.

The last part is up to you, but if you want to wear the clothes of the dead NPC, you have to murder the second NPC and loot them. You’ll then be able to add the items to your inventory and use them.

Bear in mind, however, that murder is a serious crime even in the Starfield universe, and this trick is double murder. Plus, with the character being an NPC, you don’t know exactly if the costume’s stats are worth the risk.
