There is no mention of a ghost, much less an evil one, in Starfield. However, that doesn’t mean there’s not one lurking somewhere in the vast universe. There is one at the Constellation’s headquarters, The Lodge, that you can bring into the game if you’d like.
You can download the Vigo The Carpathian mod on Nexus if you'd like.
The mod substitutes a painting at The Lodge with the iconic portrait of Vigo the Carpathian from Ghostbusters II. Take a look at the image below.
Vigo the Carpathian is the main antagonist of the 1995 film, Ghostbusters II. He is said to have been an evil sorcerer ultimately defeated and killed.
However, he returns to life after someone completed a painting of him that was displayed at the Manhattan Museum of Art. Of course, the Ghostbusters team eventually defeated the evil magician once again.
Imagine how cool it would be if somebody created a mod allowing the painting to speak and scare the players when they visit The Lodge.
Players and modders are still patiently waiting for Bethesda to finally release an official modding kit that will allow even more possibilities for these creators. However, they don’t have long to wait as Todd Howard had promised to bring official mod support for Starfield next year, 2024.
Bethesda seems to be focusing on releasing updates that will further enhance the game’s performance and fix existing issues. It released a second update, Update 1.7.36, that fixed, among others, an issue in a quest line and introduced FOV sliders at last.
Fans are also awaiting the future update that will bring native DLSS support into Starfield, following complaints from Nvidia RTX users that the game is struggling to render at 60 frames per second.
