We’re all amazed at time lapses, especially those showing changes in light and celestial positions. This Starfield player gives us a rare treat with a time-lapse showing Jupiter rising from and setting beneath the horizon, together with all the heavenly displays that it brings.
No matter what the haters say, there are many ways to create interesting content in Starfield. Photo Mode is the most common, but many players are unaware they can also create time-lapse footage in this space exploration RPG.
X user itsfrostytdm set out to create that when he landed on the moon Io, which orbits the gas giant Jupiter in our own Sol star system. He then waited as Jupiter rose halfway above the horizon, slowly rotated towards sunlight, and sank.
The result—an impressive 41-second video that went straight to itsfrostytdm’s X account. Don’t just take our word for it; you also deserve to see this work of art.
Although the creator did not specify how he created the video, Reddit users have previously discovered how to speed up each planet's orbiting patterns to achieve the time-lapse effect, in which clouds and other bodies are seen moving across the sky at high speed.
This would require inputting the following commands to the console: SetOrbitSpeedScale X. X stands for the actual number or speed you want to set for the planet, requiring some experimentation to achieve the desired effect. Unfortunately, console commands are only available for PC players.
