Thanks to modders, there’s no end to the possibilities or the changes you can make to the PC version of Starfield. Remember that these mods are still unofficial, as Bethesda is not releasing the official modding kit until 2024.
In any case, if you’re a big fan of the Terminator franchise, you might be glad that you’ll now be able to bring in the iconic T-800 cyborg assassin to Bethesda’s latest open-world role-playing game. All you need to do is go to Nexus Mods and download the mod “T800 Terminator Head.”
This mod retextures the Shocktroop Helmet and turns it into the T-800’s head. Check out the image below.
As you can see, only the helmet is replaced. There’s still no way for now, the modder said, to re-texture existing spacesuits into the Terminator endoskeleton. However, this would be possible once Bethesda releases the official modding kit.
You can also see that the skeleton head faces at an odd angle, and the eyes don’t glow. This is due to the limitations in modding that could otherwise be overcome with the official tools from the game developer.
However, it’s already cool enough at this stage to take some fantastic photos in the Photo Mode!
The Photo Mode has been instrumental lately in understanding how games treat particles like dust and rain. Last week, a player uploaded a photo of his character standing under the rain only to find out that the rain only falls on the player.
Game developers explain that this phenomenon is due to the engine slaving the rain to either the player or the camera. This saves processing power and ensures that only particles the player needs to see in their chosen perspectives are rendered.
