There’s no shortage of Easter Eggs in any Bethesda game, including Starfield, and it’s a wonder that many are still popping up in playthroughs of its older games like The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. It’s already been 12 years since Skyrim’s release, and somebody only spotted this reference for the first time!
This Easter Egg involves two skeletons inside an abandoned room. One skeleton is lying on top of a piece of wood, with one of its hands hanging out. The other skeleton is lying face down on the floor, and one of its hands is reaching up to the other skeleton.
There’s no water in that place in Skyrim, but it’s easy for our minds to make the connection with this picture - it’s Jack and Rose from the James Cameron film Titanic!
Bethesda may be known for its Easter Egg references, but the studio is not known to confirm any of these. While it’s not officially confirmed that this is Tamriel’s version of the star-crossed lovers in James Cameron’s film, the photo sparked the usual debate that hounded that death scene in the movie.
Although the thread is about Skyrim, the debates in the comments centered on whether or not Rose could’ve accommodated Jack in the floating door and, had she done so, Jack would have still been alive at the end of the film.
A couple of weeks ago, we featured a player build of the Titanic as our Starfield Ship of the Week. That ship also had a little companion - the player’s take on the equally ill-gated OceanGate submersible Titan, which imploded last year with all four souls on board.
