While The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake Skyblivion has announced its readiness to release in 2025, its Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind counterpart Skywind still does not have a release window specified and has made a call for additional volunteers.
We all felt excitement when the makers of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake based on the Skyrim engine, Skyblivion, announced during the Creative Community Con that they are ready for release in 2025. Its Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind counterpart, Skywind, is still in progress but has no release on the horizon yet.
To keep their supporters informed of the project’s progress, the team uploaded a detailed update report to YouTube.
The report shows that Skywind is progressing steadily, with 2D and 3D assets already 97% and 85% completed, respectively.
Writing, which includes Quest Writing, is at 92% as well, while implementation of quests and existing assets is at 72%. The project also ticked off over 50% of its deliverables in the visual and special effects team, music, and voice acting (VA) departments.
Unfortunately, the team has encountered bottlenecks in several departments. These include custom animations and VA mastering, which includes filecutting and sound editing. For these, as well as the other departments, the team is calling for additional volunteers and asking for applications to be sent through their official website.
Despite this, the update video showed promising progress. For instance, they showed clips of voice actor work mixed with their non-playable character (NPC) counterparts, complete with custom animation.
The update also showed completed and partial tilesets for numerous locations within the game, all of which look like impressive recreations using The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim version of the Creation Engine.
If you can help the team bring Skywind closer to completion and release, please let them know!
