Imagine this: you’ve been playing Starfield since launch, and you’ve followed all the databases to familiarise yourself with the fauna you encounter while exploring. However, you come across something you haven’t seen before, and no information is available when you scan it.
This is something that Reddit user PS1GamerCollector went through this week. He didn’t say where he was exploring, but he did share three images of the creature he encountered. Check out the picture below.
The creature is bipedal, is enormous, and has three mandibles with sharp teeth. It also has small tusks near its eyes. While it stands on dinosaur-like feet, its front arms are crab-like pincers. According to PS1GamerController, it didn’t even have a name when he tried to scan it.
However, other users weighed in and said it might be a Hunting Silverfish, which they say can be found near the sulfur mines in Ka’zaal. Others are unsure and think Hunting Silverfish should be smaller and similar to velociraptors.
Redditor SiberianRanger also pointed out that a bug causes the game to not display the name of some species, especially on those samples that have been killed.
PS1GamerController said he just took pictures and fled from the creature because it was level 100 and beyond his league.
What do you guys think? We’ve reported more than 100 fauna species in Bethesda’s biggest game; some remain undiscovered. This may be one of those… or not.
