There’s no denying that some planets in Starfield can be very dark and difficult to explore. It makes you wish for the night vision goggles used in other action and first-person shooter games, particularly the Splinter Cell games by Tom Clancy.
Well, it’s no longer a wish, as a new mod on Nexus Mods lets your character wear night vision goggles when necessary or when you just feel like it. All you need to do is press a Hotkey.
The name of this mod is, appropriately, “Night Vision.” Take a look at a comparison picture below.
According to the modder, you must first download the Starfield Hotkeys mod by reg2k, which is also available in Nexus Mods. This will allow you to set hotkeys for certain actions; here, the hotkey for Night Vision is N, but you can always select another.
If you already have the mod installed, all you need to do is just copy and paste a code into the Starfield custom INI file. So, with a press of a key, you can turn night into day when you need to, and vice versa.
This feature is not a mod, but it is also something that most, if not all Starfield players should know about. Did you know that there is a note from Alex Hay to all Starfield explorers in the game? This note reminds everybody playing that Alex is out there with them among the stars.
Alex Hay was a mobile app developer who was also a big fan of Bethesda games. He had waited patiently for the game to be released and was excited when the initial release date of March 2023 was announced.
However, Bethesda moved the release date to September 6, 2023. Alex, who was already in palliative care because of lung cancer, posted on Reddit after the release date was moved to announce that he could not hold on for six more months for the game’s release. He passed away on April 2023.
