Amazon is yet to release the first season of its Fallout live-action adaptation series on April 10. Still, new information indicates that Amazon is preparing to produce a second season.

Fallout fans are already hyped up for the release of Prime Video’s live-action adaptation, which will also be airing on Twitch. As early as now, however, there is already information to indicate that a second show season is underway.

On Monday, the California Film Commission reported that it had allocated $152 million of tax disbursements for film and TV projects that applied for the incentive in the Golden State. One of these shows is the Fallout live-action series, which was earmarked for $25 million in tax cuts.

These disbursements are roughly equal to 25% of the show’s qualified expenses, which means that the second season has a budget of at least $100 million. Variety notes that this is the largest budget in the Commission’s list of approved films and TV shows to receive tax cuts.

California’s strategy attempts to entice productions that have already begun production in another state or even overseas. In the case of Fallout, the show had already filmed the first season in Utah, New Jersey, New York, and Namibia.

Should Amazon decide to continue production in the Golden State for a third season, they’ll get an additional 20%.

However, it’s worth noting that being approved for tax benefits in California does not guarantee that production will occur in the state. If Amazon decides to film somewhere else for the next season, the $25 million approved will return to the state’s pooled funds.

Coming to Prime Video on April 10, Fallout stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Morten, and Walton Goggins. It is based on the Fallout games developed by Bethesda Game Studios and directed by Todd Howard, who also serves as executive producer for the series.
