Bethesda’s developers have a knack for embedding movie and TV show references deep into the studio’s games, and Starfield is no exception. Many references here point to other Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout.
Some film references pop up occasionally, thanks to some eagle-eyed players who seem to have a gift for finding such things. One of these is X user furoyomi from Japan. Now, take a look at the picture and see what it reminds you of.
It reminds us of the adorable alien creature in Steven Spielberg’s E.T. film. They don’t look alike, but the creature’s nose, eyes, and mouth resemble that of E.T.
The creature’s disposition is also similar to the eponymous alien in the hit sci-fi film, especially with how it seems to be talking to the player’s character.
The rest of its body is designed after that of a dinosaur, which movie geeks will also connect to Spielberg.
Who knows, maybe this fauna got lost exploring the cosmos and just wants to phone home? In any case, furoyomi has not posted any information on where they encountered this monster. No other users have made comments either.
Another X user had previously spotted a possible reference to the Brachiosaurus of Jurassic Park while exploring Zeta Ophiuchi I.
While the fauna itself is unseen, you can hear a mournful howl that’s similar to the call of the Brachiosaurus in the 1993 film when it appeared for the first time to Ian Malcolm, Alan Grant, and Ellie Sattler in Isla Nublar.
