The scope of the galaxy in Starfield is its source of elegance or inefficiency, depending on what perspective youāre looking at it from. For those who like to mine the galaxy for resources, it is a tad too big - having to look through thousands of planets for a specific resource can be a cumbersome process.
However, if you have a detailed guide that lets you see in advance what resources a certain planet has (like our own fantastic database), you could plan your material mining and management and make the process more efficient. Of course, this can be done with a few pages of a new notebook and a few drops of ink.
What if we tell you thereās a way to access this information directly from the cockpit of your ship? This is now possible thanks to the Smart Captain's Planet Resource Database.
The screenshot shows you what the mod can do for you. In a nutshell, you only need to look up a specific resource from the database. It will afterward show you a list of the planets from which you can extract the resource through outposts.
For easier access, the database organizes the list of resources so you can search for the Organic or Inorganic ones, with all the entries sorted alphabetically for easier reference.
You can even show the database on your cockpit HUDs and/or Navigational consoles.
Indeed, with this console right before you, you can become a more innovative and efficient resource-gathering captain. This mod removes 80% of the guesswork and replaces it with actual action!
Itās incredible how mods for Starfield are numbering more than thousands on Nexus, and the Creation Kit is yet to drop! It should be released any time this year, as Todd Howard promised.
